Any way to see the live traffic on the monox website like "ONLINE USERS" ?

Many times it is important for a site owner / admin to see the online traffic, like Guest / Member country, I.P address, last page visited, last activity etc in order to keep a track of the website traffic.

Also how many users are online at this moment (guests / members etc.

If no, is this feature going to be added to the roadmap ?

Hello,

ASP.NET Membership Provider keeps track of the last login date, last activity date. The last activity date can be viewed in the user administration section. However the in-depth user tracking system is not implemented out of the box in MonoX.

You are welcome to open a feature request in the roadmap forum.

Regards,
Mario

Hi,

you can take advantage of Google Analytics to track everything on the site. But you need to keep in mind that their policy doesn't allow you track specific user.

ASP.NET Membership is limited, by live traffic, I mean advanced features like last url visited, entry urls, IP address etc.

Google analytics is only for looking at the site traffic (on daily / weekly / monthly basis) not LIVE Traffic.

Anyways, I have requested this feature HERE along with an example (you can checkout the example)

Ok, we will take the feature under consideration, Thanks.

BTW Google Analytics allows you to see the "Live" traffic (although this feature was in Beta last time I have looked).

Number of online users is indeed nice to have (could have separate numbers too for logged in ones and guests/anonymous)

Yes, I did but I never mentioned that we have put this on the road map.

We are still unsure if we should embed this because it's kind of an overhead on the client side for users that don't need this.

thanks for the update.

My thoughts - I don't think it is overhead on the client side as majority of site admins would be interested in knowing who is online and how much traffic they are getting.

I agree that similar functionality of real time traffic is available as beta thru google analytics but it does not give details about users of the website.

In-build functionality in the admin site will not just tell how many users are online at any time but also will be able to give the users / member of website who are online (and logged in). Google analytics can't tell who is the user of your website.

If you are still unsure about adding this feature - To be fair why not post a poll with proposed features / functionality and see what kind of response you get from monox user ? That will give you a clear picture if monox users want this feature or not.
