Hi, Can you let us know which SQL version are you using? In case of 2012 this may be an issue but we can provide you with version that supports SQL 2012. Regards

Hi,

we have recently fixed the issue related to the SQL 2012 so you can download scripts from here. (Note: you will need to create a database called MonoX2), or you can download a new MonoX package that I have sent to your InMail.

Let me know if installation is working now, thanks.

I tried installing the version of MonoX linked in your email. I had the following errors:

The 'IIS APPPOOL\Mono' account is
not granted 'Write' permission on the 'C:\Users\Dagon\Documents\My Web
Sites\Mono\MonoX\ApplicationData\Logs'. Although this is not a fatal error,
it's highly recommended that you configure these permissions.

The 'IIS APPPOOL\Mono' account is
not granted 'Write' permission on the 'C:\Users\Dagon\Documents\My Web
Sites\Mono\MonoX\ApplicationData\Cache'. Although this is not a fatal error,
it's highly recommended that you configure these permissions.

2012-09-24 10:37:47Z: Cannot open database
"MonoX2" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for
user 'IIS APPPOOL\Mono'.

Since my installation didn't seem to work all that well I used Webmatrix to download and set up MonoX. When it was time to start MonoX I opened the directory and removed the WebMatrix version of MonoX and replaced it with the contents of your version. Everything worked fine and MonoX installed correctly.
Some comments:
1. Update the installation screen shorts in the manual
2. A more detailed installation instruction for those of who are unfamiliar with IIS and wish to stay ignorant.
3. Make it more obvious what the default system log in is

Thanks for the help
Charles

I tried installing MonoX using the manual method. When I try to access my site I get the following error and I am not able to use the installation wizard

XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: http://127.0.0.1:8080/default.aspx
Line Number 1, Column 1:

I then tried the Web Platform Installer and I was able to download the older version and setup my empty database. Before I used the installer, i deleted all the files in the monoX folder and updated with thenewest version from the download site. I setup my user security and I was able to successfully install Monox this way.

@MBEGIN - please open a new topic for your issue. We can monitor it easier that way.

@DAGON - you can find more details regarding the MonoX installation on these two links: MonoX installation 1 and MonoX installation 2.

The errors you get are related to folder permissions, your app pool process should have permissions for those folders. Also you need to set a user for your database.

Regards.

Hi,

just to add one more thing here,

The 'IIS APPPOOL\Mono' account is
not granted 'Write' permission on the 'C:\Users\Dagon\Documents\My Web
Sites\Mono\MonoX\ApplicationData\Cache'. Although this is not a fatal error,
it's highly recommended that you configure these permissions.
@Charles - this is expected behavior, in order to run the application with proper permissions you need to change the application pool account to one with proper permissions.

NOTE: WebPI & WebMatrix have old MonoX version so we recommend that you use latest version from our site or beta version that we can send you.
