In the forums, I think the user can edit an attatchment to a post, but it seems the admin (or moderator) can't edit others' attachments? (e.g. to rename them or add description/tags to them etc.). I also tried pressing Edit on the post, but still the icons for the attachments just show the delete action, not the edit

Hello Zoomicon,

Yes, this is the default behavior on the discussion boards. This is allowed on certain forms but Pretty Photo must be disabled.

Mario

how can I give more rights to the admin to see edit form and edit metadata for the forum attachments, like filename of attachment, description of it, add tags to it etc.?

Hello Zoomicon,

Please note that we recommend against this approach. If you still want to do the following for administrators then Pretty Photo must be disabled on DiscussionMessages. So here are a couple of pointers:

1. You need detect programmatically if a user is in an administrator role and set the EnablePrettyPhoto to false.
2. In FileGallery.html template you need to add the <# DeleteButton #> tag.

Please note that the administrators will not have the PrettyPhoto functionality in this scenario.

Regards,
Mario
