is there a problem when copying a database from other monox installation regarding categories? does it expect some folders in the system to be created for each category or something?

I see a duplicate key error though, which shouldn't be related to folders, but I'm not sure what the issue is

should I try editing the db tables to fix it? what may have caused it?

I was a bug in the group management, this should be fixed in the version I have just pushed live on nightly builds stream.

Please upgrade and let me know if you are sill facing the same issue.

What's the correct process of updating the db? Do I just use the db created with MonoX_4_7_40_3598 (Beta) on the build MonoX_4_7_40_3943 and it will work fine? Or do I need to run the installer on the newest version and pass it the existing db and it would detect the db version and apply in sequence update scripts to go up each version step from that db version up to to the db schema needed for the latest version?

Hi,

you can use the existing database created by MonoX_4_7_40_3598 (Beta), but at this point MonoX will not execute update scripts automatically so you will need to do this manually and then you can use MonoX_4_7_40_3943 on that DB. You can find the update scripts here: /MonoX/Installer/Sql/UpgradeScripts
