I have tried to install MonoX on Windows 2003 with SQL Server 2008 Express.
I have prepared a SQL database with username etc. with all permissions I believe.

But during the install procedure, when I choose to install the SQL DB tables, I receive the following fatal error:
Warning: Fatal error 824 occurred at Sep 28 2010 2:08PM. Note the error and time, and contact your system administrator.
And the install procedure will not continue anylonger.

So, what I have done wrong or are there some suggestions to resolve this problem?
Thanks in advance.

According to Microsoft, "The 824 error indicates that a logical consistency error was detected during a read. A logical consistency error is a clear indication of actual damage and frequently indicates data corruption caused by a faulty I/O subsystem component."

It does not seems to be related to MonoX - I would say that there is a problem with the installation of your SQL Server. Do you have any other machine where you could try to install it?

I have almost 50 different kind of SQL databases on the same SQL Server and I have no problems with it. So, I don't think is something about my SQL Server...
I'm verry new with MonoX so, I think maybe it's something I didn't have understood with the setup of the new MonoX DB. The only thing I have done, is created a new DB and a user with read/write/owner and grand permissions on this DB. I read it in the manual. Normally I don't have problems with creating and using new db's on this SQL Server. I don't have many experience with such kind of installation procedures... No either with ASP.Net,
I'm very new with ASP.Net, I work normally with ASP Classic...
Could it be something with the preparation of the setup?
Or there other suggestions, please?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Amelsens,

can you please answer on the following questions so we can try to help you:

1. After you have unziped the package did you set write permissions to the folders (MonoX/ApplicationData/Cache, MonoX/ApplicationData/Logs)
2. After you have unziped the package did you set write permissions to the web.config (in order to write the DB connection string automatically)
3. If both above where set before the installation can you please check if you have any files in the "MonoX/ApplicationData/Logs" and attach them here.

Regards.

Yes, I have set the right permissions, but again, the same fatal error occured.
There is only 1 log file with some text in it and this is: [2010-09-29]_MonoX_Info.log
There is only 1 line in it: 2010-09-29 22:23:33,545 [1] INFO MonoX [MonoX] - Application Start
So, what to next?

Hi Amelsens,

we need to find where this error is coming from (internally), so can you please try to see if there are any errors in the Application Event Log ?

Thanks.

A few more things we need to know: did you manually create the MonoX DB before you started the installation? Are you using the SQL Server authentication or integrated authentication? I assume that the database setup screen correctly recognized your SQL Server and was able to list all databases on that server?

If everything else fails, we could guide you through the process via MSN or Skype. It will allow us to find the cause for this behavior much faster. Please send your contact details to our support e-mail address.

Yes, I have manually created the MonoX DB and a DB user login as descripted in the manual.
I use normally Windows Authentication.
Yes, the database setup recognized correctly my SQL Server and was also able to list all databases on my SQL Server, including the new created one for MonoX.
And yes, there is now also the same error in the Application Event Log!!!
On wich support e-mail address can I send some attachments to let you see some screen dumps I made from different situations on my Server during the installation.
Thanks in advance.

I have sended you an e-mail with a lot of screen dumps taken from the installation procedure and the setup of the SQL DB. There is also information about my SQL Server and the DB User properties and the Application Event Log error...
Maybe this will help to find the reason why I receive the Fatal Error 824.
Please, let me know if you need something else...
