Hello,

I have 2 questions:

1) Does MonoX support creation of custom pages? For example, my website deals with a football team news, stats and various forms of information such as squad, individual player pages and more.

Is it possible to integrate regular pages such as the team squad page with the MonoX template I will be using? For example, all the template will be in a master page and my customised content will be in the included content page. This way I integrate both MonoX and my pages together.

Is such a thing possible?

2) I realised that MonoX should be installed from the start at a folder of my choice. As my website is live and I do not wish to bring it to halt meanwhile configuring and testing, I thought of installing MonoX on a sub-domain or a sub-folder of my live website until all configuring and testing ends. Is it an easy task to then transfer MonoX to my main website directory? (from a sub-domain such as 'abc.nicher.com' for example to the main working and live site on 'www.nicher.com')

Kind regards,
Noy

Hi Noy,
1. yes, MonoX supports creation of custom pages. MonoX uses standard master page/content page approach, and if you want to utilize all of its features on your custom pages they should inherit from MonoSoftware.MonoX.BasePage. You can register all of your custom pages from the administrative backend (Page administration).
2. it is easy - you will just have to swtich the bindings in the IIS manager, no MonoX-related changes will be needed.

Denis

Hi,
there are various integration approaches - the most common scenario includes the development of custom membership providers (more details can be found here), so your existing users can be transparently authorized with MonoX. However, including MonoX Web parts into another, working Web site is not a simple task, as they rely on the base infrastructure provided by the core engine. You would need to purchase the source code and modify it, or use the membership approach with social networking functionality provided on separate stand-alone or iframed pages (powered by MonoX).
