I am having a problem and I think it may be a bug..

I have configured my webconfig..
<add key="NewsPublisherRoleName" value="Publishers" />
<add key="NewsEditorRoles" value="NewsEditors" />
<add key="NewsWorkingMode" value="AdvancedMode" />

I then created a user, and only gave that user two roles.
Users, and NewsEditors

I logged in with the user, and everything was working as expected other then the user can publish their own articles..
I only want them to be able to write their own articles.. not publish.. and from reading the MonoX documentation it looks like that's how it should work but it does not..

Oh and another issue I noticed was my created user did not get a popup on the top.. either..
so I had to hand type the location of the admin into my browser window.. it never showed up on a panel like the admin area does.

any ideas or is this bug ?

Hi,

  we have checked the issue you have mentioned but for the NewsEditor users we don't have the publication items available in the News article manager. Can you please check the assigned roles for the user you are testing with ?

And can you please elaborate the "my created user did not get a popup on the top" do you mean the user you have created is administrator or ?

Regards

The testing user only has two rules, users, and NewsEditor.. - user: Test User

When I tried to login with Test User I got no popup on the top for a quick navigation to the news or admin area..

I manually navigated to the admin page and everything was grayed out except for news..
I was able to create news.. all was good.. then I was able to publish news to right to the main page... bad..

Hi,

  as for the permissions issues please let us know which version of MonoX you are using ? The navigation link won't appear on the top of the screen it would appear on the bottom properties of the WebPart (WebPart verbs - actions) and it will appear inside the Default news template as shown on the attached screenshot.

Ok.. your looking at the front end..

The backend is where the issue is..

Login with a user that has only the NewsEditors, and user rule.

then navigate to..
http://localhost/MonoX/Admin/Default.aspx

most will be grayed out.. then go click on news..

Hi,

  we have found the issue you have mentioned (sorry I was looking on the News article edit form not the quick publish). It is a permission issue and we have fixed it. This fix will be available in the next release that we will publish soon.
