Removal of Status (Mono Support )

We want to remove the "Status" display from profile but cannot see how to do this. When we remove status we do not want to lose the "Browse" functionality which enables the addition of an Avatar. Please advise how to do this.

For our information, what did you expect people to use the "Status" field for?

Status fields should be used as user current status e.g. like on Facebook so users can put their thoughts etc. So they can enter e.g. Working on a great project with a great team ... You should be aware that status changes are cross-posted to user's Wall so other users can comment on them.

To hide the status field from profile you should set ShowMyStatus property to False.

or could also be saying "I'm in a meeting with John" or something like that (at least originally that was status was destined for I think and then Twitter and Facebook came and status updates often with more useful things posted in it than mere availability info or current-song-being-listened-to that Live Messenger was using)
