Hi,

I found some bugs in the admin panel, mainly the Groups menu.
1. After General category was removed, I can't create groups anymore, even if I put a new General Category back. I have to restore the database to get it back.
2. While General category was remain unchanged, when I switched to another language, let's say Croatian ;), and created a new category named Croatian Groups, then when I was trying to create a group, a error window popped up, it says

System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: 'ddlCategories' has a
SelectedValue which is invalid because it does not exist in the list of items.
Parameter name: value at
System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListControl.set_SelectedValue(String value) at
MonoSoftware.MonoX.ModuleGallery.SocialNetworking.GroupEdit.BindData() at
MonoSoftware.MonoX.Admin.SnGroupManager.#7j(Guid entityId, CancelEventArgs e) at
MonoSoftware.MonoX.GridViewEditBox.OnEdit(Guid entityId, CancelEventArgs e) at
MonoSoftware.MonoX.GridViewEditBox.OnAdd(CancelEventArgs e)

My solutions:
Bug 1: can be by-passed just keeping the General category, while changing name of it is possible.
Bug 2: just close the Error Message, and remember to input the Group Administrator field, which normally already filled with Admin.

I hope these will help you guys to improve MonoX.

And, I have a question about Group Container Property User score for new group creation, what's a user score?
I put a 2000000000 in this field, but it didn't stop users from creating groups.

Property User score for new group creation defines number of points user will get when he/she creates new group. Generally user score is used to track how active is user on portal and will reflect on user's reputation. Some activities can be more valuable then others, this is left to portal creator to decide which activities are more valuable.

As for the first issue, at least one group category is required, and as you have noticed it can be renamed. We will check what is going on in the localization scenario (2nd issue) and get back to you.
"User scores", as Pajo described, are used to assign "reputation points" for user actions on the portal (creating a group, publishing a blog post, commenting on it, posting a forum post, etc). It is not clear what do you want to achieve - preventing users to create groups require a different strategy, please let me know if you need more details on it.

For the 1st issue, I did remain other categories, just removed General. So there might be a specified index in the code.

So user scores is like reputation in this forum, then forget about it, it's no way to be control.
I want to specify certain roles, only users of these roles can create groups, and a limited number of groups for each user can create, in order to prevent abuse.

Hi,

we are checking the first issue and it will be fixed in the next release, as for the roles restriction and group per user restriction you will need to inherit the group Web parts and implement your custom rules.
