at a users profile page, you see on the right a button saying "Add a friend" - I'd expect that to say "Add as friend" or "Add as a friend" or "Send friend request" ("Send friendship request" is too big I guess). "Add as friend" maybe was your original intention and somebody missing "s" from "as"?
