implementation complexity depends on the nested groups features you want to support, e.g. if you want some cross-group filtering or communication it would be very hard to implement this and would require you to have MonoX source code, but if you just want to have list of nested groups where user can navigate to sub group and have exactly the same functionality as parent it would be relatively easy to implement.

Let us know what exactly did you had in mind ?
