We are getting very close to 4.9 release bit can't disclose any release date, and we are working on 5.0 in parallel that is all that I can disclose right now.

Sorry for asking again but any update for 4.9 version ? I want to launch my site and need to decide if I should go with 4.8 or 4.9 since customizing 4.8 then upgrading to 4.9 and customizing that too will be a lot of work.

So I rather customize one version rather than spending double time on doing that on 2 version.

Please mentioned any ETA if possible ?

Np, I'd suggest the same thing as I did before, please push your app on MonoX 4.8 as 4.9 will bring some small changes and a new themes, changed administration and installation screens. It will be a bit hard for you to upgrade to new theme as new theme is based on SaSS.

You won't have to do any customization when moving to 4.9 if you stick to your current theme and styling, you will just fix few screens and that would be it.

I can't disclose any ETAs as we are doing a major restyling and shift in skinning technologies so we can't give any firm estimates. One thing that we are considering is to release the 4.9 and 5.0 Beta at the same time so community can help us make the transition to DI based engine.

The database upgrade will be easy right ? when we install monox, in the installation screen we get option to upgrade from previous version.

So when I will upgrade from 4.8 to 4.9 in future, I will select that option and it will be updated, right ? Then I ca switch old web files with new 4.9 web files ?

Right now it seems that no database changes will be pushed to 4.9 so you will not have to do anything in order to upgrade the db.

ok...but for the safe side, it is still recommended to upgrade database just so that when 5.0 comes, I am not jumping from 4.8 to 5.0 and everything is in sequence 4.8 to 4.9 to 5.0 ?

I am assuming when you launch or release any new version the upgrade script is based on the last official released version ?

Yes it is, if there are any upgrade scripts you should execute them.
