hi Igor,

i did the steps as suggested by you.
Changed the InstallationDone = "false" and using the wizard only tried to give the connection string of the same DB.
This time application name appeared in the dropdown. i entered the new application name, checked "use existing membership" and clicked on finish.

Installation finished successfully but records got added only in "aspnet_Applications"  and due to this i am not able to even login to the website.

Please suggest.

You will have to insert what you need manually via sql for the time beeing.
