It’s been a while since we announced a new version of MonoX and described its main new features. We are happy to announce that the final version is now ready – you can grab it from our download section.
MonoX is becoming a universal foundation on top of which you can build all kinds of Web sites and applications. The support for mobile devices will allow our users to tackle the ever expanding mobile applications market. The improvements made to the personalization infrastructure makes it easy to deliver fully customizable applications. We are currently working on several large projects that allow end users to personalize the look and feel of their “sub-sites”, and will soon publish tutorials on how to implement this type of functionality in your own apps.
This will be the last version that supports .NET framework 3.5 and Visual Studio 2008. The next version will include only Visual Studio 2010 solution and project files, and will be targeted at .NET 4.0. A very small percentage of our users still use the old framework and IDE – those that do are encouraged to switch to the new version during the following months.
Additionally, please note that there will be a considerable delay until this version is published in Microsoft Web Gallery. Until further notice, please use the version provided in our download section.
